E-portfolio has not only taught me how to create an e-portfolio and what it is but has also taught me a lot about myself as it has forced me to think about my passions, my feelings, my creativity and my life. As I am unsure what I want my future to entail, and am unsure of my career path, I chose to focus my e-portfolio on one of my passions and so the focus is on youth ministry. This has enabled me to gather my thoughts and opinions for my own benefit as well as enabling me to share them for the benefit of others. I have been able to reflect on past experiences and influences and look toward the future and think of ideas and possible aspirations.

In this subject, a lot of the work that we were being taught and going over was very basic for me. This led to me becoming frustrated part of the time in class as I wished to go further ahead but couldn’t do so because other members of my class didn’t understand or we were being explained something again. I did, however, have to get used to using a Mac but this soon became second nature to me and it was a good opportunity to learn how to use one when I am used to using a PC.

The layout of the final e-portfolio is very different to what I expected. I expected it to be laid out like a webpage where we could decorate the page to suit ourselves, could write information or ideas on pages under headings related to the artefacts we could also add. This was not so even though the e-portfolios we’d been looking at had been like this and so keeping modules one and two in line with module three has been difficult due to mixed expectations. I also had problems as I couldn’t include all of the artefacts I wished to as the site didn’t have enough space for all of my artefacts. Because the page was simple to develop, I feel that the subject should have been more challenging and allowed students who have used computers a lot, opportunities to create a better page and learn new and possible harder skills.

The subject has been a lot of fun as we were able to be creative and it allowed us to create something which taught us about ourselves and a skill we may possible have to teach and use later and allowed us to reveal and tell others information about ourselves through the page generally, our artefacts and through blogging.

Today is our second week of actually creating our e-Portfolios. It isn't exactly how I expected it to be so I've had to change what I'm going to do a bit but I can still add stuff. I don't know how to do the things exactly as I wanted but I'm getting used to it. I thought I'd be able to have a bit more freedom in creating it but I don't really.
I added some Files under my heading about youth ministry but I can't talk about them or describe them because I can only add the files. I wish I could discuss my topics rather than just post blog entries or add files because then I'd be able to make it more personal, more clear and I believe just easier to understand.
I expected it to be more like a normal webpage where I could design the page and have links off each page and so that is why changes have had to be made.
For a while in class today the page wasn't working and so that was a bit annoying as I couldn't access the page to make blog entries or get on with making my e-portfolio.
Today we're learning how to subscribe to a RSS feed but I don't know which ones will be appropriate for me because I want my e-portfolio to be focused on my passion for youth ministry not just generally about me or my degree. I may have to slightly alter my purpose though.... we'll see.
I'll push on, developing my page and see what happens.

As part of my university degree, Bachelor of Arts in Organisational Learning, which I am studying at UTS, I have to create an e-portfolio to represent myself. The focus of my e-portfolio is my passion for youth ministry and how that has helped to make me who I am. I am looking at it from the point of view of me being a participant, a leader and a learner. I will be looking at my past experiences and influences so that I can learn from them and change and adapt for the future.
