Wow! I can't believe it's been over a month or so of my last entry. Well, with the craziness around the Xmas and New Year, no doubt it was an intense time in the office.

However, in the quiter time in January, I'm pleased to say the Pilot testing has been successful. At the same time, out of the 5 pilot testers we only got 3 feedback forms back. Oh well, 3 out of 5 is not too bad, it's still the majority.

I think the evaluation sheet threw some of the testers simply because of the length of it, it's 11 pages long. Maybe next time we do a short one or two pager that doesn't take much time to complete! We could also do it using Survey Monkey and this way we can collate all the data and get better outcomes.

Ok, time to go back and check how the wiki's going. I'd also like to see what the others have been doing with their task. It's great to see everything coming together!

Oh, the joys of being online. Just finished writing and of course got an error message and nothing was saved. Well, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m finally au fait with all the various systems we’re using.

And I also think that the team has done an excellent job with this task. Although at first we were a tad confused about what to do, there was a natural progression with the regular meetings and discussions with both groups in NSW and Vic.

I’m looking forward to the workshop next week so that we can consolidate what we’ve learnt so far along the way. The conference tomorrow will also be beneficial to the team and add a different perspective to our ideas of what e-Learning is and where it’s heading.

I think I have finally accomplished the task... I'll do a final check tomorrow morning and see whether it makes any sense. I'm also going to see how the rest of the team is going and whether our assignment has synergies... I hope so. Ok, will wait for part 2.

It feels like it's been a while since my last blog. I suppose with the Melbourne Cup long weekend and other priorities it's been difficult to get back to it. But I'm here now and....

I've actually found it quite an experience with the Sustainers and our wiki. Initially I thought it a less complex task as what it's turned out to be. Meeting with the group last week was a great way to focus again, and the use of a single collaborative tool is advantageous.

I've just started on the 2nd part of my task for the Sustainer's wiki which is to adderss the support for e-Learning within the organisation on a number of levels of support: Management; Technical; Development; Learner and Other...

I know there's plenty of organisational support for e-Learning, and there's the IT infrastructure to support it accordingly but now I'll have to investigate whether there's management support. I presume there is but one can never make such an assumption without any evidence. Ok, here goes...

It was great to meet up with the guys just then. As I mentioned, we're in a far better position than this time last week and have really gone forward in our team task. Meeting on a weekly basis is beneficial for all of us and really prompts us to get on with things. Looking forward to the next meeting next Thurs where we'll discuss the Implementation Plan.

Google Buys Wiki Company!

This is an interesting read...

Google Buys Wiki Company - JotSpot: Google has just bought JotSpot, an emerging Wiki company. JotSpot had one of the most application rich wiki's on the market, targeted to organizations that wanted collective documents with more user access controls and embedded applications. The wiki is
clearly evolving from the simple shared writing platform to a richer set of tools and systems. And, Google is deep into this process.

Check it out at [Click to view link]

Yesterday during my 'down time' I found it was a great opportunity to focus on all the various tasks on the UTS Onnline Discussion forum.

I especially found it useful to not only access the various links and sites but to see what the others had written, such as Canan, Mark and Karla. It's great to practise what you preach and to see the theory come alive... Mmm, I'm sounding a tad cliche here but it's still very true.

Looking forward to learning more and applying in the workplace.

Mmm, I've finally logged on after a panic state re my login details. It feels good to be back online! Even with my experience in eLearning I found it a tad frustrating not remembering all the different sites and login details. But now I'm on track and raring to go.

Speaking of being on track, I agree with both Canan and Mark that last week's video conference was critical to our course in the clarification and allocation of tasks.

Looking forward to today's meeting too!
